Velvet Rufus

So, the new Rufus Wainwright album is out. It’s sitting by the CD player waiting, I think because Mika has really put me off Loudon Jr. All this camp pop has really started to take over – I guess the Scissor Sisters are to blame – and I don’t like it. Since when has Elton John been the great influence on music? A handful of good songs, a heap of foolishness and a tantrum or two do not a legend make. Thanks to the inexplicable success of the aforementioned Mika we can expect more of this show tune-esque nonsense, something I’m less than happy about…

Right, I bit the bullet and listened to Rufus. Utter flamboyant crap. Although at least he’s personable, unlike that twit Mika.
